It's time to welcome fall's slate of new and returning shows and say goodbye to summer's light sci-fi fare. I'm looking forward to catching the final episode of Eureka's third season this week, as well as the second season premiere of Fringe. We've also got new episodes of Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries headed our way, plus Saul Tigh guest stars on Warehouse 13. Read on for this week's TV picks and video previews.
- Warehouse 13, "Nevermore" – Myka's hard-ass dad, played by Battlestar Galactica's Michael Hogan, falls under an Edgar Allan Poe-related artifact's spell. Pete and Myka travel back to Myka's home to try and save daddy before its too late. This episode promises to be a big deal for Myka, who we know has a very rocky relationship with her father. Hopefully, this ep will leave room for Hogan to return in a recurring role. (Tuesday, 9 p.m. on Syfy.)
More picks and previews after the jump.
- Fringe, "A New Day in the Old Town" – Didn't follow the first season of Fringe? No problem. Fox has a handy video recap of all the major season one events, and you can watch free episodes right here. Once you're all caught up, tune in to this week's premiere as Olivia returns from the alternate reality, Peter attempts to make sense of her trip, and Walter ... er ... makes some custard. Producer J.J. Abrams has a writing credit on this one, so you don't want to miss it. (Thursday, 9 p.m. on Fox.)
- The Vampire Diaries, "The Night of the Comet" – I didn't watch last week's record-breaking premiere, but I heard it was awful. Still, I'm gonna catch up in time for this week's ep which sees Boone from Lost puling an Angelus on the rest of the cast. (Thursday, 8 p.m. on the CW.)
- Supernatural, "Good God, Y'all" – Thursday's a big night for genre TV this fall. Supernatural is back with the boys dealing with what seems to be a demon infestation in a small town, but the truth turns out to be something even weirder. (Thursday, 9 p.m. on The CW.)
- Eureka, "What Goes Around Comes Around" – Tess Fontana, we hardly knew ya! Miss Fontana gets a job offer in Australia (and actress Jamie Ray Newman bolts for a starring gig on ABC's Eastwick), and Zoe prepares for Harvard. Sheriff Carter has little time to deal with the lovely ladies thanks to a magnetic disturbance that, of course, threatens to destroy the entire town. (Friday, 9 p.m. on Syfy.)
