caprica cylon there is another sky syfy

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Caprica, 'There Is Another Sky'
Caprica is quickly becoming one of the best and most provocative dramas on TV. It's too bad no one is watching. But those in the know won't want to miss tonight's ep that finds Daniel Graystone trying to save his company, sealing his planet's doom in the process with a big Cylon push. Elsewhere, Joseph Adama tries to reconnect with little Billy while Tamra's avatar explores the chaotic virtual world. (9 p.m. ET on Syfy)

smallville conspiracySmallville, 'Conspiracy'
– Oh, those nutty Kandorians! On tonight's ep, Zod and his crew of clones experiment on a human doctor, who later goes crazy, escapes, and kidnaps Lois (of course!) in an effort to prove that aliens are invading Earth. Yeah, Smallville's gotten pretty crazy this season. You should be watching. (8 p.m. ET on The CW)

smallville lois warrior

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Smallville, "Warrior" – Ever wanted to see what Lois Lane might look like dressed up as Wonder Woman? Well tonight's your chance! In the latest episode of Smallville, Clark and crew head to the Metropolis Comic-Con, where Chloe's new boy toy steals a magic comic book (is there any other kind, really?). Clark and Zatanna (Serinda Swan) search for the thief to reclaim the book before he becomes corrupted by its power. Elsewhere, Lois gets jealous of Zatanna which, we're guessing, leads to her much-anticipated cosplay moment. (8 p.m. ET on The CW)

supernatural love and death

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Supernatural, "My Bloody Valentine" – After a string of Valentine's Day murders, Sam, Dean and Castiel pin the crimes on Cupid, who turns out to be a schlubby and grabby half-naked manchild, naturally. But is Cupid at fault, or is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to blame for the deaths? (My money's on the Horseman.) (9 p.m. ET on The CW)

The Vampire Diaries, "Fool Me Once" – The tomb opens tonight as Damon asks Stefan to help him save Elena. What's inside the tomb? I'm hoping it's a magical portal that'll lead Ian Somerhalder back to the island and away from this kiddie creep show. (8 p.m. ET on The CW)

smallville absolute justice dr. fate stargirl

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Smallville, "Absolute justice" Smallville channels Watchmen as Clark and Chloe try to solve the murder of a former superhero. The case leads them straight to DC Comics' legendary Justice Society in tonight's much-anticipated spandex-heavy TV movie event. Comic scribe Geoff Johns, who penned last season's fan favorite "Legion" episode, is behind tonight's two-parter featuring JSA members Hawmkan, Star Girl and Dr. Fate. Stargate's Michael Shanks, who straps on the wings to portray Hawkman, says "Absolute Justice" features "an appearance by nearly every single member of the Justice Society." (Still, don't expect Ryan Reynolds to show up wearing a power ring.) Phil Morris returns as Martian Manhunter and Pam Grier begins her multi-episode arc as Amanda "The Wall" Waller. (8 p.m. ET on the CW)

Caprica, "Reins of a Waterfall" – Tonight's ep is all about the fallout from Amanda Graystone's bizarre confession about Zoe being involved in the terrorist bombing. The Graystones go into damage control, and Amanda is interviewed by popular chat show host Baxter Sarno (the awesome Patton Oswalt) about her relationship with her daughter. Elsewhere, Joseph Adama orders a hit on the Graystone family. (9 p.m. ET on Syfy)

fringe bishop revival fox

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Fringe, "The Bishop Revival" – The team is called in to investigate when a group of people mysteriously suffocate in a room full of air. Walter connects the incident to an experiment he was working on in Germany and later makes a shocking discovery involving the Bishop family and the Nazi regime. It's the Fringe team vs. Nazis, a showdown so potentially awesome that it makes up for the apparent lack of alternate dimension craziness in this episode. (9 p.m. ET on Fox)

The Vampire Diaries, "Unpleasantville"The Vampire Diaries reminds us that it's nothing more than a gothed-up teen soap with another hour of bubbly high school drama. Damon and Stefan fight over who gets to slow dance with Elena at the sock hop while a crazy new vampire crashes the party. Sounds like somebody spiked the punch! (8 p.m. ET on The CW)

Supernatural, "Swap Meet"Supernatural takes a cue from an '80s Fred Savage movie when a nerdy teen swaps bodies with Sam. (9 p.m. ET on The CW)

Archer, "Killing Utne" – Assassins target a UN intelligence chairman at Malory's dinner party. Also, Archer insults the help. (10 p.m. ET on FX)

smallville tom wellingSmallville, aka "the show that won't die," might be headed for a tenth season, says producer Kelly Souders. I wrote about this news today at TV Squad, and I asked fans what they would want to see from a possible tenth season of the super hero series.

I'd love to see Michael Rosenbaum return to make Clark's life a living hell. Or maybe we could get a real story arc for Brian Austin Green's Metallo. I'd definitely welcome more episodes penned by comic book writer Geoff Johns, who wrote last season's memorable "Legion" episode and will return for this year's Justice Society ep.

Where do you want to see the show go? Should it continue? Has Smallville worn out its welcome after more than eight years? Are you excited about Julian Sands turn as Clark's father, Jor-El? Let us know.

smallville lois zombie(S09E03) Who knew the Smallville zombie episode would turn out to be such a bummer? Our heroes did nothing but whine, brood, and talk about their lonely lives while the almost undead were chompin' on people's limbs.

Where were the fun Grindhouse-style action sequences with the good guys firing sawed-off shotguns and revving up chainsaws? Where were the decapitations? And where were the jokes? You'd think a show about Superman fighting zombies would have plenty of jokes.

I understand that every piece of zombie art can't be as fun and clever as Zombieland, or as gloriously gory as 28 Days Later, but I was hoping for something a little more off the wall here.

flashforward flash forward abc

It's time to welcome Dollhouse, Heroes and Smallville back to the TV sked. Will Echo's adventures live up to the promise of last season's finale and "Epitaph One"? Can Heroes turn things around in year four? Will Tom Welling look good wearing an "S" on his chest?? It's time for some answers, people.

Plus, FlashForward debuts on ABC and Warehouse 13 ends it first season on Syfy. Read on for this week's TV picks and video previews.

Heroes, "Orientation" – Circus freaks! Lesbians! Hiro on his deathbed! None of the promised storylines for season four make me want to start watching Heroes again but, surprisingly, NBC's intriguing preview video for tonight's premiere is having the opposite effect. Watch it after the jump. (Monday, 8 p.m. on NBC.)

It's time to welcome fall's slate of new and returning shows and say goodbye to summer's light sci-fi fare. I'm looking forward to catching the final episode of Eureka's third season this week, as well as the second season premiere of Fringe. We've also got new episodes of Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries headed our way, plus Saul Tigh guest stars on Warehouse 13. Read on for this week's TV picks and video previews.

- Warehouse 13, "Nevermore" – Myka's hard-ass dad, played by Battlestar Galactica's Michael Hogan, falls under an Edgar Allan Poe-related artifact's spell. Pete and Myka travel back to Myka's home to try and save daddy before its too late. This episode promises to be a big deal for Myka, who we know has a very rocky relationship with her father. Hopefully, this ep will leave room for Hogan to return in a recurring role. (Tuesday, 9 p.m. on Syfy.)

More picks and previews after the jump.
