chuck versus the beard nbc

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Chuck, 'Chuck Versus the Beard' – Things start to fall apart for Chuck when his flashing abilities go kaput and the team ditches him to work on a dangerous mission. Sounds like our boy could use a little lovin' from Kristin Kreuk's Hannah -- too bad he dumped her last week! Diedrich Bader and Reno 911's Cedric Yarbrough guest star on tonight's ep, directed by star Zachary Levi and featuring the return of Jeffster! (8 p.m. ET on NBC)

heroes brave new world

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Heroes, "Brave New Word" – The Heroes season finale could turn out to be a series finale thanks to tanking ratings (not to mention the show's dip in quality). Season four's final act sees Samuel taking revenge on humanity with the ultimate weapon ... a deaf girl's cello! The producers are promising a game-changing finale that will shock all 25 die-hard fans to the core. Oh, and Sylar officially becomes a good guy, again. (9 p.m. ET on NBC)

Chuck, "Chuck Versus The Mask" – It's team-up time as Morgan pairs with Elle to find out Chuck's secret, and Sarah and Shaw work together on a mission involving cute nerd couple to be (I hope) Chuck and Hannah. (8 p.m. ET on NBC)

chuck sarah frak off nbc

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Chuck, "Chuck vs. the Nacho Sampler" – Kristin Kreuk's Hannah sends the dateless Nerd Herd workers into a panic during her first day at the Buy More. Chuck struggles to recruit a new agent, and Shaw teams up with Sarah (who, by the way, looks great wearing tight and geeky Battlestar gear) for a secret mission. Elsewhere, Awesome is forced to deflect Ellie and Morgan's suspicions about Chuck's double life. It sounds like this one's packed with plot. I'm looking forward to seeing Kreuk interact with Morgan and the rest of Chuck's mutant friends. She's much more adorable here than she ever was on Smallville. (8 p.m. ET on NBC)

Heroes, "The Wall" – Samuel goes full-on bad guy as Claire and Lauren attempt to spring HRG from the carnival. Peter visits Sylar's own personal Oz to help him battle his worst nightmare. There's only one more episode left, and I really, really hope it doesn't involve a killer cello!

Here's a look at tonight's sci-fi TV:

Dollhouse, "Epitaph Two" – We head back to the future (2020 to be exact) as Echo and crew fight to undo the mindwipe-ocalypse in the series finale of Dollhouse. Can a stress-addled Topher save the world with his brand new futuretech? Will Paul and Echo live happily ever after? We'll find out tonight. (8 p.m. ET on Fox)

Smallville, "Disciple"
– Oliver's old teacher The Dark Archer (Andromeda's Steve Bacic) heads to Metropolis and sets his sights on Lois and Chloe. Clark and Speedy are pulled into the drama as Oliver looses control of the situation. (8 p.m. ET on The CW)

star wars french discoHere' something even more horrifying than pulling Scotch tape outta C-3PO's groin.

Apparently a young and possibly drug-addled George Lucas OK'd an ungodly '70s Star Wars disco boogie starring an army of dancing C-3POs and some very, very shameful-looking Darth Vaders.

The French, being French and all, decided this was great fodder for nighttime TV and promptly put it on the air.

There's a reason disco wasn't around in a galaxy far, far away, and this is it.

star wars gangsta rap

Lookie here, it's a brand new Star Wars Gangsta Rap video from the folks who brought you the old Star Wars Gangsta Rap video.

Sorry If I sound a bit underwhelmed here. These videos are funny enough. I mean, who doesn't love watching Stormtroopers bust a move on the dance floor? But enough with the endless Star Wars parodies already. I think it's time for the Bent TV crew to cut together something different, but not too different. A Star Trek rap, perhaps? (It worked for Jimmy Fallon.) Maybe a Heroes parody? How about a Battlestar Galactica gangsta rap video? That sounds like an easy one. Adama already rhymes with "word to yo mamma!"

Head after the jump to watch Luke and Leia get jiggy wit it.

true blood beyond here lies nothinWe've only got a few more weeks until some of our favorite summer series go into hibernation to make room for fall's slate of new shows, including Stargate Universe, V, Flash Forward and Human Target. We'll be covering those shows and more here on TV Geek Week this fall. We'll also be geeking out over returning shows like Dollhouse, Fringe and Lost. But summer isn't over yet, so check out this week's picks below.

True Blood, "Beyond Here Lies Nothin" - OK, I'll be honest here. We really don't know any more about Sunday's True Blood season finale than we did last week, but we still can't wait to watch. The HBO series has really kicked it up to eleven this season with great drama, horror, humor and mystery. Lots and lots of mystery. Will we find out more about Sookie's supernatural side? Will Jason and Andy help save the day? Will Erik steal Bill's hero moment and make Sookie's steamy V-induced dreams come true? And will someone finally please kill Maryann? I love Michelle Forbes, but isn't it time for her to start filming a guest spot on Stargate Universe or something? Check out the trailer after the jump and this gallery of pics from the season finale. (Sunday, 9 p.m. on HBO.)

true blood warehouse 13

You'll have to wait two more weeks to watch the sure-to-be freaky season finale of HBO's True Blood. Last Sunday's ep, "Frenzy," was one of the series' best yet. We were introduced to Sophie-Anne, the strange, hilarious and decadent Vampire Queen of Louisiana. But everything went to hell in Bon Temps while the Queen kept Bill waiting in her "day room." Lots of new questions were brought up (what's the deal with the egg?), and now it looks like Sookie Stackhouse's darkest night is about to fall.

On the lighter side, Syfy is treating us to a 24-hour Eureka marathon on Friday, and the always-awesome Joe Morton visits Warehouse 13 on Tuesday.

spock leonard nemoy star trekThis might not be the newest video in the world, but it features Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy explaining the origins of the Vulcan salute and talking about great Trek writers, like Theodore Sturgeon and Harlan Ellison. Like his pal William Shatner, Nimoy says the awesome season one ep "Devil in the Dark" is one of his favorite episodes. Not sold yet? He also mentions Pon Farr, aka the time when Vulcans go into heat.

(The Cinematical/SciFi Squad/Horror Squad team is on the ground at San Diego Comic Con and doing their thing. In our debut video, here's writer-director Michel Gondry rapping about The Green Hornet with his son as a human beat-box. Kevin Kelly reports for Cinematical...)

This might be one of the strangest videos you'll ever see on Cinematical. Over my several short years of movie coverage, I've witnessed some strange things: I actually saw Crispin Glover's "What in the hell is this" film experience What Is It?, watched Kevin Smith double over in pain from a leg cramp during an interview, and kicked Jim Carrey in the foot.

However, nothing beats Michel Gondry free-form rapping to the sounds of his son Paul beatboxing. Oh, and he's rapping about the Green Hornet's car, Black Beauty, which Sony had just unveiled after Preview Night at Comic-Con. Truly bizarre. Plus he gives us a short preview of the movie's opening scene ... and maybe the theme song?

Head after the jump to watch the video, and you'll probably understand a little bit better why this guy was so qualified to direct Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
